Thailand no longer has a tax-free threshold

Imported parcels used to enter Thailand VAT-free below 1,500 baht. That exemption has been removed, so imported goods are now assessed no matter how small the order is. In practice most personal parcels are charged 7% VAT on the declared value, and some categories can also carry import duty.

Who pays the tax, and when

The recipient is the importer of record. If Thai Customs assesses your parcel, the delivering carrier collects the amount before or at hand-over — usually a simple payment to the postman or at the local post office.

Prices on TokOrder cover the product and international shipping only. Thai import tax is not collected at checkout.

Category notes

  • Cosmetics & skincare — fine for personal use in reasonable quantities. Selling them locally requires Thai FDA registration.
  • Snacks & food — anything containing meat or egg cannot be brought into Thailand. Shelf-stable items without meat (cookies, seaweed, candy) generally clear customs within personal-use amounts.
  • K-pop albums, photocards and character goods — no special permit needed for personal orders.

How your order travels

Orders are picked, checked and packed in Seoul, then handed to Korea Post. K-Packet (tracked airmail) is the default service; an express option may be offered at checkout depending on destination. Once the parcel ships you receive an email with a tracking number that works on 17track.

Delivery time

Most parcels arrive within one to two weeks of dispatch. Peak seasons and customs checks can add a few days — the tracking page always shows where the parcel actually is rather than an optimistic estimate.

Pay in baht

Product prices display in THB and your card is charged in THB through Stripe's hosted checkout — no separate currency-conversion step on your side.

よくある質問

Is there still a duty-free limit for parcels into Thailand?

No. The former 1,500-baht exemption was removed, so imports are assessed regardless of value. Most personal parcels see 7% VAT applied to the declared value.

Will I definitely be charged import tax?

Not every parcel is assessed. If yours is, the carrier contacts you to collect before delivery. TokOrder collects nothing extra at checkout.

Can I order Korean cosmetics to Thailand?

Yes — for personal use in reasonable quantities. Commercial resale would require Thai FDA registration.

Can I order Korean snacks?

Items without meat or egg generally clear customs within personal-use amounts. Anything containing meat cannot be imported into Thailand.

How do I track my parcel?

We email you a tracking number once the parcel ships. It works on 17track and shows each scan from Seoul to your door.
